Outsiders, Stereotypes and epiphanies
An outsider can defined to be left out. There are many different feelings that may arise a result of being an outsider such as sadness, madness &loneliness. An outsider may feel excluded at having friends. Lastly there are verities of rezones that encourage of being an outsider such as raises, sexism, classism & enophobia.
There are different kinds of outsiders such as people who choose to be an outsider and people who don’t choose it just happens there are also insiders and border liners. I am a border liner because some times people choose not to hang out with me for stuff like lunch or just in general and I choose not to hang out with because I don’t want to be bothered. Over all I feel like I am a border liner because some people don’t like me or don’t think I am cool enough, but I also choose not to fit in some times.
Stereotyping can make some one feel like an outsider. In fact stereotyping is when some one judged from some thing about them. An example of some one who has been stereotyped was my mom. My mom has been stereotyped when she was bused out to an all white school and because she came from a bad neighbor hood most of the other kids assumed that she was not going to do well but she worked hard and surprised them by getting exalent grades. So don’t always believe what you think of others unless you have meat.
Stereotyping from the outsiders. Another example of stereotyping is when pony boy that the socs don’t have problems because they are rich & they can do any thing they want and greasers cant in the book that’s kind of how it went.
Stereotypes are also explored in c. Addichies TED TALK called “A Danger of a single story.” In this presentation she discusses how stereotypes are a bad thing to do. Then she was talking about how people did it to her. Stereotyping is dangerous because you could get heart by stereotyping some one because you’re not always right, but it doesn’t mean you are wrong. Its like is I went to a store & saw a man with a hoody will steal rob some one. I am stereotyping that man with a hoody because I thought he would rod some one but he didn’t.
Despite stereotypes and epiphanies challenge individual to become better people. An epiphany is when you’re a better person or when some one charges because some else helped them realize what they did wrong for example me I had an epiphany it was when I was being mean to some one and did not realize it. Then she got mad and stopped talking to me. The epiphany was hen I finally realized that I know that I all people like my jokes. Kind of how Johnnies epiphany was that when he killed bob and he realized that it was wrong and when he was hiding from the police and he realized it was himself in
Stereotyping is when some one thinks that you are a certain way because of your racism sexism and looks for example if I go to a school with all Mexicans and I am white they will all think I am dumb because I am not the same raise as them. Kind of like in the outsiders dally died when he pulled out a gun that the police thought it was loaded.
Learning about outsiders stereotyping and the different things in life.” Become human.” An outsider is when some one doesn’t belong in a group for example pony boy likes sun sets, doesn’t like to fight and he likes to read.
